Exploration and Establishment of Generic Name Classification-Code for Medical Equipments

Abstract：Objective To establish the generic names and classification-codes of the medical equipment which are suitable for hospital
information management. Methods Based on the medical equipment category which was implemented on August 1, 2018, the
current classification standard, functional purposes, management requirements of all kinds of medical instrument were analyzed and
attributed. Then the generic names were established and classified. Finally various properties of medical apparatus and instruments
were interconnected together. Results We could only input the invoice name into the system and associated it with generic names,
then the equipment was accepted and warehoused. Different attributes could generate different equipment parameters, and the
equipment management department managed different attributes according to different equipment parameters. Conclusion The
establishment of the classification of generic names is beneficial for the information management of medical equipment dictionary
which is always not limited to the different classification criteria and different hospital management needs.
